Cedarwell Excavating Ltd. joins Walker Industries, a Fifth Generation Niagara Family Business 

 

HANOVER, ON (December 1, 2023) – After nearly 35 years in business, Jorg Weller has sold his construction, excavating, and aggregates business to Walker Industries Holdings Ltd. (Walker), a fifth-generation family-owned business headquartered in Niagara Falls, Ontario.  

Walker anticipates a seamless transition of ownership and is committed to keeping business as usual. Locally, Walker operates pits, quarries, construction services and environment resource management businesses across Grey, Bruce, Wellington, and Simcoe counties. Broadly, Walker has operations spanning across North America.   

The Cedarwell business offers excavating, and infrastructure works to local municipalities for critical utilities. The Walker team will continue the Cedarwell legacy of strong service with a focus on the local community.  Walker also brings a wealth of additional resources such as human resources, health and safety, IT infrastructure and expertise for managing complex regulatory and contractual needs in the aggregates and construction industries. All Cedarwell employees will continue to operate as a unit of Walker’s Aggregates and Construction division. 

Over the years, Cedarwell has expanded its scope of work to include road construction, infrastructure, and installation of underground services. From large commercial and agricultural projects to smaller residential projects, Cedarwell has a large fleet of well-maintained heavy equipment and trucks, making the company very versatile for any size job.
