Renewable Energy
Generating energy from greenhouse gas.
We recognize the opportunity for modern landfills to recover a significant energy resource. That’s why we capture landfill gas to use as a substitute for natural gas or other carbon-based fuels. This energy source is used to fuel engines or turbines, generate electricity, or power industrial appliances such as boilers or furnaces to make heat or steam.
SOLUTIONS FOR LANDFILL SITES ACROSS CANADA
We harness landfill gas for use as an energy source in partnership with Comcor Environmental. This partnership offers expertise to develop and implement customized landfill gas collection and utilization solutions for landfill sites across Canada.
Responsible handling of liquid organic waste turns restaurant waste into electricity.
RECOVERING ENERGY FROM LIQUID ORGANIC WASTE
Walker is the only national grease trap company in Canada working to convert raw material into renewable energy. Grease interceptor waste collected by Walker Grease Trap Services is transported to anaerobic digesters to transform fats, oil and grease into a valuable resource. Some anaerobic digesters produce electricity to supply the grid while others produce biogas to supply pipelines.
